Fees and Referrals

This is a private fee paying psychology practice. The standard consultation fee  from 10th July  2023 for new clients is $190.35 or $156.35 for concession card holders/low income.  This fee sits below the Australian Psychological Society national recommended fee for 2023-2024 of $300.00  per consultation.

Medicare rebates are available for psychological treatment with a valid GP referral and plan. This will enable you to claim a portion of your fees from Medicare.  A GP referral letter and Mental Health Care Plan are required. Please make an appointment with your GP to discuss your eligibility for this. 

 

If you have a GP Mental Health Plan, Medicare can reimburse you up to $136.35 per consultation for 10 sessions per calendar year.

With a plan the out-of-pocket expenses:

• $190.35 (with rebate gap is $54) full fee

• $156.35  (with rebate gap is $20) concession card/low income

 

The full amount is required to be paid upfront and the rebate can be subsequently claimed from Medicare. All fees are payable at time of consultation. An Eftpos machine will available to assist with claiming the rebate for face to face consultations.

Alternatively, a proportion of your fees may be redeemable from your private health insurance. Please contact your insurer to find out how much you can claim. The fees will need to be paid in full and then claimed subsequent to your consultation with your provider. 

 

A cancellation fee of $50 is charged for non-attendance or cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice.
